Arthur Jones, founder of Nautilus, created MedX in 1986. Jim Flanagan helped launch MedX with Arthur Jones in 1987. Arthur's quest was to perfect medical equipment for testing human strength, endurance and range of motion.

PROFILE
Jim Flanagan has invested over 40 years in the Health and Fitness industry. Jim is known world-wide for his contributions in Sports Medicine, exercise protocols and advancements of High Intensity Training methods. His association with Arthur Jones began in 1971 and spanned almost four decades.
After the sale of Nautilus in 1987, Jim assisted Arthur in developing and founding Medx Corp., a medically based company specializing in low back, neck and knee rehabilitation. In 1991 they launched a full line of exercise equipment under the Medx name, designed specifically for fitness and rehabilitation. From 1987-1996 Jim continued traveling the world, promoting and selling Medx equipment and teaching people how to strength train properly.
To date, he remains an independent distributor of Medx equipment worldwide and is the driving force behind proven and time tested methods of effective strength training

THE MEDX BRAND
MedX applied the knowledge gained from its medical machines to the design of a full line of exercise-only machines. These machines incorporated MedX’s patented compound weight stack which produces less friction and enables several hundred levels of available resistance in increments of 2ft-lbs. This feature reduces user strain and, for the first time, made it possible for individuals to select the exact level of resistance required regardless of their strength.
